Of all the nearby attractions, the most significant is undoubtedly the World Trade Center, where the iconic Twin Towers stood before the September 11 attacks.
The World Trade Center building complex housed hundreds of offices and numerous workers. Fulton Center is the busiest subway interchange in Lower Manhattan, where five major subway lines converge.
After the 9/11 attacks in 2001, Fulton Station was closed due to structural damages. Thanks to an impressive renovation plan, the station became a completely new building: a center with a large retail space and several offices.
Fulton Center is an imposing glass and steel construction dominated by a large transparent dome. The dome contains an art installation entitled Sky Reflector-Net. It consists of 952 aluminum panels hung by cables that allow light to reflect naturally into the building.
Fulton building contains a large number of stairs, elevators, and access points equipped with escalators, so there are no overcrowding risks.
